Membership Promotion Committee publicizes the aims, activities, achievements, and scientific and educational purposes of the Society to encourage qualified persons to apply for membership. The committee also monitors the Society’s membership demographics and, where appropriate, adjusts or creates programs to ensure that individuals from all demographic backgrounds are being equally attracted to ASHRAE.

Developing Economies Program
The Developing Economies membership program provides a reduction in dues for applicants and renewing members who reside in countries categorized as “Low Income” and “Lower Middle Income” by the World Bank List of Economies statistics.
Qualifying applicants and renewing members will be automatically notified and given the option to participate in the program when joining and renewing online.
Membership Grades

Full Member
Full Member Grade is open to anyone who has a combination of education, professional licensure and work experience equivalent to twelve years in the HVAC&R industry.
Associate
Associate Grade membership is for those who have been in the industry for a few years and are focused on developing skills and growing their network.
Affiliate
Affiliate Grade is a low cost, introductory membership for those who are either: (1) under 30 years of age OR (2) who have been honorably discharged from the Military within the past 5 years.
Student Member
Student Grade membership is designed for engineering students who may be considering a career in HVAC&R.
